Approx. 5-12th September 2008: Alpine Wanderings

A multi-day hut tour based in the French/Swiss Alps taking in the beauty of the high alpine peaks and the diverse range of flora, fauna and geology that make this area so unique. Discover why part of the Alps are actually African, the distinct call of the sandwich-stealing marmotte and go in search of the rare and beautiful Edelweiss. We will trek between alpine huts run by the French/Swiss Alpine Club who provide dormitory-style accommodation, good three course meals and excellent wine whilst being high up in the mountains. Soak up the silence as the sun sets over the Alps with a glass of the region's finest red. Lovely!
